When I was applying for the art programs in different colleges (and even some art schools), I had to learn how to put together my first portfolio. I knew I needed about ten pieces that showed my type of work and my variety in skills. Going through all my photos, I noticed that I did not have any portraits of people.
Photography now centers around a lot of portraits and fashion. So, I knew I had to get at least one portrait into this portfolio. There were some people willing to be my model at my school, but I did not want photos of my friends. This caused me to email a bunch of pretty, and interesting people to pose for me in a teachers office.
It was dark, and I had a lamp from someones room as my light source. It was such a makeshift studio. After getting shots of a few people, this one is still one of my favorites, editing and all.
