This past week was the last time I will be visiting San Diego for a long while. My grandmother used to live in Poway; but within the last five years, she got cancer twice and after her moving to South Carolina so we could help, she passed. She wanted to be in the ocean when she died and we didn't think it was right to put her in the Atlantic. Grandma was a Southern California girl all the way and loved the ocean and palms of California.
It was a beautiful ceremony and family that I haven't seen in years was there to celebrate her life. I wanted to share some of the photos from my trip, but I couldn't just post them and pretend there was a happy reason that I was there. I see Grandma everywhere and I hope you can see her beautiful influence in some of these images.
These cookies are officially one of my favorites, and you know how I much I love to bake my own goodies. Not only is there the perfect icing to cookie ratio, but it's so light that I could eat all 31 of them!
We had them for my brother's graduation party and I am not even sure that he got to have one because they were gone as soon as they were out. I highly suggest grabbing some for your special and not so special occasions near North Augusta, SC!
Have fun in college. Make friends. Go an adventures. Be yourself and don't let anything hold you back.
I cannot believe that my little brother is a senior in high school! I have watched him grow up into such a polite young man and I am very proud of him. For those interested, he will be attending Clemson for business finance; so instead of being mom's problem at home, he can be my problem here in the upstate. His high school prom was not that long ago and I can finally share some images of him and his beautiful girlfriend. Enjoy!
